Opening ceremony of the joint project on “Entrepreneurial Education as a Key Factor of Establishing Workplaces and Recruitment in Azerbaijan” of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) and the University f Siegen, Germany has been held. UNEC’s delegation also attended the event held at the University of Siegen.
Opening the ceremony, the Department Director of the University of Siegen, German Head of the Project, Professor Petra Moog delivered detailed information about the project. Expressing great gratitude to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) which finances the project, P.Moog thanked UNEC for the active participation in the development of the project.
Professor P.Moog brought to attention that UNEC will get educational support in entrepreneurship, business, finance and management fields within the four years; a great deal of summer and winter schools with the participation of the both universities’ teachers and students and research opportunity for young research fellows and scholars at one of the partner universities are planned to be held within the project.
Making a speech Head of UNEC delegation, Vice-rector for International Affairs and Programs, Associated Professor Shahin Bayramov stressed the high significance of the project for establishing new stage in efficient cooperation between the both universities. He said that bilateral relations will bring German experience in higher education to Azerbaijan. Establishment of joint Graduate Program between the both universities within the project was also discussed.
Detailed information about the history, culture and economy of Azerbaijan, as well as training programs of the university, the project of business incubator, career center and international graduate and doctoral centers was delivered during the event.
The participants’ questions about UNEC were responded within the event.
The Heads of the University of Siegen structural units, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Energetic of Nordrhein Westfallen province of Germany, Head of German Chamber of Trade on the mentioned province, representatives of a series of local companies and students participated at the opening ceremony.
Afterwards the project work group’s session took place. Measures to be implemented within the project and other technical and administrative affairs were discussed in the session. UNEC delegation and 10 UNEC students who will attend the first Winter School realized within the project visited the company Kruckemeyer situated in the city of Siegen.
Azerbaijan State University of Economics and the Siegen University of Germany have launched a joint project. The Project on “Entrepreneurial Education as a Key Factor of the Establishing Workplaces and Recruitment in Azerbaijan” is financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Office. According to the projects the realization of summer and winter schools, trainings on financial and business planning, entrepreneurship, innovation management, logistics, e-commerce, risk management and other topics and organization of workshops are planned to be held. Participation of 16 UNEC scholars’ and young doctoral students’ in research experiences at the University of Siegen, foundation of joint Graduate Program, arrangement of “consulting financial clubs” in both universities and the implementation of “small business plans” among the young scholars are also will take place in accordance with the project.
As the an initial project one teaching staff of UNEC and 10 students will attend a Winter School held at the University of Siegen of Germany. UNEC’s teaching staff member will conduct a class on “Financial Markets”. Beside UNEC students, the students of the University of Siegen will also attend the class. Successful attendees will acquire UNEC credits. UNEC credits obtained by the German students will be recognized by the University of Siegen.
Meeting with the teacher and students to be sent to Germany, UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov spoke about the successful cooperation built with the prestigious higher education institutions of the world and urged them to take active part in the project, to make German students acquainted with Azerbaijan and to study Germany, its history and culture.
Note that, the Project of “Entrepreneurial Education as a Key Factor of Establishing Workplace and Recruitment in Azerbaijan” will cover 2016-2019 years.
A joint project of the University of Siegen of Germany and Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on EE-KEY-AZ Entrepreneurship Education: a Key to Job Creation and Employability in Azerbaijan has become the winner of the contest held by the Head office of the German Academic Exchange Service- DAAD in Germany.
Meetings and trainings with the academic staff’s, young research fellows’ and students’ participation are planned to be held in both Azerbaijan and Germany within the project granted. At the same time winter schools and workshops are to be held in both countries. Business planning, innovation management, logistics, e-commerce, risks management and other fields will be covered within the trainings. The project covers all levels of higher education. The development of a joint graduate program is also placed main targets of the project.
The competition of “A Small Business Plan” planned to be held among the young scholars will help the employees conducting research in this area. And the “Financial Consultant Clubs” will give the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students the opportunity of forming as consultants. Research fellows will get a chance of passing internship in different companies of Germany and Azerbaijan. Another interesting aspect of the project is the integration of the employees involved to trainings in alumni database to be established.
The execution of the project will start in October of 2016 and last for four years. Note that, UNEC is the only higher education institution participating in the competition as a partner from Azerbaijan.
Meeting with the Head of the International Relations Office of the University of Siegen of Germany has been held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on February 26.
The cooperation directions such as the student exchange between UNEC and Siegen University, dual diploma programs and joint projects and researches have been discussed within the meeting.
At the same time they discussed the goals and realization issues of the project EE-KEY-AZ Entrepreneurship Education: a Key to Job Creation and Employability in Azerbaijan, the project is coordinated by the University of Siegen and UNEC is the only partner university of the Universities of Azerbaijan.
The execution of the project held and granted by the head office of DAAD in Germany will start in 2016 and it will last for four years. Meetings and trainings with the participation of the academic staff members of both Germany and Azerbaijan, young professors and students in a regular basis are planning to be held.
Note that the project is the first of this kind held among the higher education institutions of Azerbaijan.
